The aging potential for the Riesling Vidal Blend is moderate, as it is primarily designed to be enjoyed young, showcasing its freshness, bright fruit flavors, and crisp acidity. That said, it can still develop and evolve in the bottle for a few years, depending on the vintage and the specific characteristics of the wine.

Typically, the Riesling Vidal Blend can be aged for up to 3-5 years from the vintage date. During this time, the wine may develop some additional complexity, with the fruit flavors becoming more subdued, and secondary notes like honey, petrol, and minerality becoming more pronounced.

To age the wine, store it in a cool, dark, and humidity-controlled environment, ideally at a temperature around 55°F (13°C) with a relative humidity of about 70%. This will help preserve the wine's quality and ensure it evolves gracefully over time.

The 2021 harvest season for our Riesling Vidal Blend was marked by favorable growing conditions that allowed for optimal ripeness and flavor development in both varietals.

Spring began with a mild and relatively dry weather, providing ideal conditions for bud break and flowering. This laid the foundation for even fruit set and a promising growing season. Throughout the summer months, the vineyards experienced a balanced mix of warm, sunny days and cool nights, which promoted steady ripening and the development of complex flavors and aromas in the grapes.

As the harvest approached, our winemakers closely monitored the grapes to determine the optimal time for picking. The Riesling grapes were hand-harvested in early September, capturing their bright acidity and vibrant fruit flavors. The Vidal Blanc grapes followed shortly after, with their harvest taking place in mid-September, ensuring they had reached their peak in terms of ripeness and complexity.

The grapes were then carefully sorted and pressed, with the winemakers paying close attention to the delicate balance between the two varietals. The juice from the Riesling and Vidal Blanc grapes was co-fermented in stainless steel tanks to create a harmonious blend that showcases the unique characteristics of each grape while offering a refreshing and well-rounded wine.

The 2021 Riesling Vidal Blend is a testament to the exceptional growing season and meticulous attention to detail throughout the harvest and winemaking process. The result is a delightful wine that captures the essence of both varietals and offers a truly enjoyable and memorable drinking experience.
